Dr. Nasser HOTEIT is the president of the Lebanese Petroleum Authority. He has been involved in the Energy Sector for almost 30 years. He started as a researcher and design engineer within a major petroleum company. Afterwards, he joined the nuclear industry as a Geoscientist and head of the Geosciences Directorate covering Geology, Geophysics, Geomechanics, Geotechnics, Geochemistry, Oceanography and Climatology. His activities that involved experts, senior engineers and PhD students at the Polytechnic School and Mining school of Paris, helped drive forward the knowledge of Conventional and Unconventional Hydrocarbon Reservoirs. Parallel to these activities, Mr. HOTEIT was a board member of the nuclear public agency and a senior expert at the international Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Mr. HOTEIT joined the petroleum industry again as an expert and a technical authority for the design and the construction of Liquefied Natural Gas Plants. Before joining the Lebanese Petroleum Authority, Mr. HOTEIT contributed to the development of hydrocarbon fields in arctic regions. He has been a part of several patents and has authored numerous scientific publications. Throughout his industrial career, Mr. HOTEIT has also acted as an Associate Professor at Paris-Tec, Polytechnic School, Grenoble and Lille Universities. Mr. HOTEIT has an engineering degree, MPhil, and PhD from the Polytechnic School of Grenoble, a Certification of arctic engineering from the University of Alaska, and MBA from HEC-Paris. He is a Certified Petroleum Engineer and Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
