Prior to joining METAC which is a METAC is a collaborative effort between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and several bilateral and multilateral donors aimed at providing technical advice in core macroeconomic and financial management areas to 14 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Ms. Koranchelian was Assistant Director in the IMF’s Strategy, Policy, and Review Department, leading the institution’s work on surveillance policy. Throughout her more than 16 years of experience at the IMF, Ms. Koranchelian held various positions in the Middle East and Central Asia Department, Fiscal Affairs Department, Strategy, Policy, and Review Department, and the Executive Board of the IMF. She led missions to many countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe, and headed the design of various IMF policies.

Before joining the IMF in 2000, Ms. Koranchelian worked in the central bank of Lebanon and was advisor to the Minister of Economy and Trade in Lebanon. She holds a DES in International Finance and a Masters in Economic Policy from University Saint Joseph de Beyrouth.
