Valentina Caldron Mejia is the First Economic Affairs Officer in the Division for Conflict and Emerging Issues at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.

She worked as a consultant for the UNICEF in New York and the World Bank in Washington DC.

She has written a number of papers studying the impact of IDP’s labor markets, marriage markets, domestic violence, and crime, and has recently published her work in the Journal of Economic Geography.

She holds a PhD in public policy from the University of Chicago.
