In response to a multitude of challenges, both in terms of public trust and economic conditions, the government of Lebanon has launched an ambitious programme of public sector reform in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
The country’s public procurement system plays an essential role in this programme, and a MAPS assessment was the foundation for laying out a roadmap for improving and strengthening its procurement system.
This event organized by MAPS Secretariat in collaboration with the World Bank and the Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan aims at exploring how Lebanon’s MAPS experience can be harnessed effectively to advance procurement reform, with a specific focus on why good stakeholder engagement is crucial both to a successful MAPS assessment and any reform process that follows.
Speakers will discuss with stakeholders from different sectors the reform strategy for public procurement informed by the recently-published MAPS assessment of Lebanon.
